http://on.fb.me/pF1BDl. You'll notice they say don't mention the EVO 4G specificly, only that other devices could follow after the E3D and Sensation in august.....not looking good for us updated replacement POS EVO users till after august.....:(

just glad they (HTC) acknowledge that they need to unlock the bootloaders. seems like they are responsive to feedback about the bloat that is added by the carriers.

HTC isn't / wasn't responsible for making the bloatware removable. Sprint is the one who has the say in what carrier specific add-ons get installed on devices and how they are handled.
The same will be true with the bootloaders, Sprint will have final say in whether bootloaders are unlocked or not. HTC can be as cavalier as they want in stating that bootloaders will be unlocked, but Sprint can very easily law down the law and say otherwise.
Lets hope Sprint plays nice and lets it happen.
