Can't download apps on HTC Hero after dropping it

I dropped my HTC Hero and all the apps seem to have disappeared.

I was able to reload a couple of apps but now the Market App crashes as soon as I start it.

I tried downloading apps via the internet and it tells me I have no phones associated with my gmail account. I delete the phone # associated with the e-mail account and re-set it to no avail.

Am I missing some trick?

Try a factory reset and set the phone back up from scratch. Make sure to backup any important data if you can through Gmail, such as contacts, calendar, etc.

If you are still having problems you might have damaged something internally, don't know exactly what could be causing these problems.
