Hi all,
I have a captivate, but the larger amount of features and better OS of the mytouch really appeals to me, so I am looking into it. It says on all of the sites that I have been to that the mytouch has gsm 850 and 1900 so it should technically work, but obviously I don't want to buy a phone that won't work.
Can any one help?

Yea.. Arcadia is obviously right -- different frequencies for 3G.

T-Mobile: 1700/2100 MHz for 3G

ATT: 850/1900MHz for 3G

The 850/1900MHz spec you saw for T-Mobile is for their 2G network. ATT uses the same frequencies for their 2G and 3G networks.

I've also used an unlocked BB Bold 9000 on T-Mobile (Rogers network version...but same specs as ATTs before the Bold was on T-Mobile), so I can also tell you from personal experience it doesn't work (I knew it wouldn't when I bought it, but 3G wasn't a big deal 2 years ago to me).
