HTC One - Disable button/notification lights while watching videos?

To start, I love this phone. After tweaking it for a week, it does pretty much everything perfectly for me... except this one thing.

When watching videos at night (Netflix/Youtube/MXplayerPro), the notification LED and the lights on the buttons are very bright and distracting.

Is there ANY way to temporarily disable these lights during video playback. Tasker profile? App I missed? Root file re-code? Anything?

I've scoured these forums, google, everywhere with no luck.
