Updating Verizon HTC One m8 on Non-Verizon Network
I've had a HTC One m8 for about a year and a half. At the beginning of the year, we swapped to StraightTalk to save money because Verizon was getting too pricey. Since we were still bound by contract, my mom, dad, and I all got BLU phones. Now that our contracts are up, we've all swapped back, her to her iPhone 5s, my dad to his S5 and I to my One m8. The issue for me is, since we're no longer with Verizon, I'll have to root my phone to update it. I've heard the Verizon m8s with 5.0.1 are more difficult to root. Is this true, and can anyone walk me through the process? I'd love to flash a custom ROM or maybe even stock 6.0 Marshmallow if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
