So, I use folders in Gmail, rather than labeling everything (ie: if I need to save an email, I just move it to the appropriate folder). I have noticed that in the Gmail app I can only apply labels, while in the Mail app I can move things to folders. Right now I am reduced to going to gmail on my laptop once a day to move the things I want to keep into their appropriate folders.
My question: I want to set up my Gmail account in the Mail app and delete my account from the Gmail app both since I wouldn't use it, and to avoide duplicate notifications. I need to know if deleting my account there will affect all the other google services (calendar, play, etc.) on my phone. Would it make more sense to leave the account in the Gmail app and just set it to manual update with no notifications (to avoid duplicate notifications) and never use it?
Of course, then I wouldn't have push for Gmail...
So I need opinions and knowledge from people who use Mail for their Gmail accounts and reasons why it's a bad idea, too.
Thanks everyone.
