HTC U11: Coming from the 10, any regrets?

There's only one thing about the U11 I like less than the HTC 10: glass body. Otherwise it's just an awesome phone.

I didn't exactly come from the 10. The HTC 10 is the only phone I had for a year and constantly switch to and from. My only regret was not getting this phone sooner and wasting my time with the s8+ and the LG G6. It's a great solid device and a nice upgrade to the 10. You will not be disappointed at all.

Exactly my thoughts. I have the 10 and hate cases. Having a glass back smartphone is stupid since the moment you drop it on the concrete floor it breaks but using a case affects the way the color looks and shifts. Oh, and I've read that using a 3.5 normal headphone with the USB to 3.5 inclued adapter is much worse than using the 3.5 headphone jack from the HTC 10, is that correct?

Cheers

I have no regrets. As great as the 10 is the U11 is better in every way. Like others the glass make me a little nervous but it's absolutely gorgeous.

I just plugged my Samsung akg head phones in to adapter. They sound pretty damn good. Also when I plugged the adapter in, there was an immediate firmware upgrade for the supplied usb-c to 3.5. I feel that if what you read wasn't recent then this may have fixed those issue for it sounding worse.

It what way do you feel it's noticeable better?

Cheers

Better audio both internal and headphones. Holds a better signal than the 10. Screen is brighter and better overall. Better battery life, I'm getting at least 2 hrs more of SOT and have never had to recharge during the day. Camera is quite a bit better, but never had complaints about the 10. Runs smother and faster than the 10. Love edge sense. Fingerprint scanner is absolutely perfect on this phone, I hardly have to touch it and it's fast to unlock. These are a few things I can think of but I'm sure I am missing some.

My feelings exactly.....

What do you think about using normal headphones with the included USB-C to Headphone Jack adapter versus directly on the HTC 10 regarding sound quality? Reviewers say it´s much worse...

Cheers

I was supposed to check this the other night for someone else on the board but forgot. I will try and remember to check tonight and let you know.

It's about the same quality. Sounds great. The only difference is you can't create a custom eq profile like you could on the 10.

Really? I don't understand why reviewers are stating otherwise...

Not sure either.... The audio just sounds really good. I really like the included earphones. I'm a world touring audio engineer (I mix concerts) for a living, I think I know what sounds good (Usually :) )

After testing the U11 to the 10 I have found that the sound quality is about the same between the two. The 10 has a little more max volume and the U11 seems to have a very small advantage in quality. I basically agree with mfreeland.

Are you comparing using the included adapter and normal headphones and not only the included USB C ones?

Yes, on the U11 I used the adapter and the headphones that came with the M9. On the 10 I used the same headphones plugged in to the headphone jack.
