Nah bro, phone clone, petal search and appgallery combined. I mainly use petal search to download apps and I have HERE WeGo apps to replace Google Maps.

Being an avid phone photographer, I'm always curious how the camera is. Huawei has built up its camera reputation hugely in the past few years, so how do you find it?

I find the photos amazing, you can really tell the difference with the RYBY lens. Its really taken it to a new level, ive tested out the night mode in comparison and I must say I prefer taking a photo with no special mode selected. The RYBY lens has opened it up a lot more in my photos and the details incredible.

I have had the P40 Pro for review purposes for a few weeks now and although there is the usual "yeah but it hasn't got google" response, it really has been a pleasure to use. Yes initially it's going to be a PITA setting your apps up (for the general pubic who are used to Apple/Samsung) as we all know, but give it time and it's really a fantastic phone. The camera on my Galaxy Note 10+ has been great since its launch in August last year but when you put it up against the P40 Pro, it really is inferior.

When people hear the word 'Huawei' they think about what's in the news regarding 5G (in the UK) and spying etc etc, but next time you do some browsing on google for shopping etc then check your Facebook, notice the Ads that come up from your recent browsing history! They are all at it!

For the price and bang for buck, this phone is a steal with lots of gifts included, unlike Samsung in the UK which give you sweet FA for pre ordering!

I got a p40 Pro as a loan device today to review. So far it has been a mixed experience. Some apps didn't work, but I found most of them using petal search. I am not putting banking apps on, as this is not my main device.

I have had some app crashes. Podcast addict didn't like my backup file when I restored it. So I will have to set it up again. Printershare kept crashing. Amazon photos crashes at times. I am using it to backup photos I take with this phone, since I don't have Google photos.

But the main thing I wanted to try this phone for is the cameras. And they do not disappoint. I wouldn't pay £1000 for this phone without running official gapps, as I am deep into Google ecosystem. But the cameras are pretty special, especially after using a Samsung S10+ for the last 6 months. I love my Samsung but the cameras are not on a par with these by far.

I took the flower basket at wide angle, normal, 2x, 10x, 20x and 50x. The detail is incredible.IMG_20200730_150457.jpegIMG_20200730_150428.jpegIMG_20200730_150422.jpegIMG_20200730_150407.jpegIMG_20200730_150352.jpegIMG_20200730_150334.jpeg

And now the cat pictures... Just because. The moving photo where Tiny is biting her paw still came out OK. The blacks in the close up and the detail is remarkable. IMG_20200730_194000.jpegIMG_20200730_193738.jpegIMG_20200730_194016.jpeg

I purchased one from Wish. I have not been able to hook it up with straight talk or family mobile. What do I need to do to get service.

Me, too. I have an Acer Chromebook and Google Home Minis scattered around and love the integration. But, I also love taking photos. Yesterday I almost called my nephew, who has my p30 pro, and told him he was getting a p40 pro and I want my p30 pro back but I didn't.

My biggest loss is Messages on the Web so I can do text messaging from the Chromebook. My short, stubby fingers don't type on a phone. I'm also too hard of hearing to use a phone to listen. I'm older than most trees.

So, I have icons linking to websites for Google Calendar, Google Contacts, and Google Keep and they sync with those apps on my Chromebook. I have a Google Maps app on the Huawei phone and it works fine but it won't let me login so it isn't tracking me. I also have an icon linking to the Google Photos website. How well it work seems to vary. Google seems to be aggressively addressing the anti-Huawei issue.

I don't do games or social media on either my phone or my chromebook.

So, I'm struggling but so far, so good. I'm enjoying the camera.
