Crazy as it seems now, I swapped a Blackberry for an iPhone4 and then a Samsung Fascinate. I had good reasons, but I've found a few issues with the Samsung phone that are so annoying that I'm considering rooting it even though I have zero experience doing anything like this other than teaching myself a little html/xhtml coding.
My main complaint is not being able to turn off the rude audible calendar notifications without completely silencing the phone. Do I need to root the phone to take care of this? Should I download the bootlegged Froyo EB01? Any other suggestions? I've already tried other calendar apps but the evil stock calendar won't be silenced.
All suggestions are appreciated.
