Nexus 5, Android 5.01. I have set my email account to never delete a message from the server. But, it does. If I delete a message on my desktop computer it will still be on my cell phone. But, if I delete on the cell phone it is gone from the phone and the computer.

Any suggestions?

Is this a POP3 account or IMAP? If POP3 the 'Never delete on server' command is sometimes not effective. Gets ignored by some mail systems. In such cases about all you can do is not delete mail on the phone you want to keep.

Better solution is to gid rid of POP3. Convert the account to IMAP if possible.

Thanks.

I use an email address with my ISP, Telmex. Is it necessary to contact Telmex and have them set up an IMAP account on their server?

If you have POP3 now, probably you can go to the Telmex website and see if they offer a switch to IMAP service. You might be able to simply change your account on their website without even needing to contact them. Gmail for example, let's you switch account types by just clicking on a setting.

Now, I'm just guessing about this. I don't know anything about Telmex, but that's fairly typical of how many ISPs work.
