I am considering purchasing a Moto X pure edition and upgrading it to marshmallow. I would consider another android phone. What I need to do:
1) Video record a live musical performance, preferably with "timecode" . If I could sync the video timecode to GPS, like done on the Canon 7D, that'd be perfect. "JAM syncing" to external timecode via an input is typical, but with GPS timecode sync its not essential. No timecode is not a show stopper, but would be helpful.
2) The performamce goes thru mixer etc and will be recorded on another device. The essential requirement is that I need to get a live "scratch track" to the phone. That way I can sync the final mix later. I have a top end USB audio device, the Sound Devices USBPre 2, that will receive a signal from the mixer. No drivers are required, and it works fine with Linux.
