So over the last week or two I noticed a sudden spike in wifi data. Usually not a big problem, but over weekends I am at my girlfriend's place and she has a limited wifi bundle.

I use "My Data Manager" to see more accurately which apps use the most data. The two sudden data hogs are "Media Storage" and "Samsung Cloud". Some days they use over 600mb together.

Does anyone know what those apps are and do? Do they sync photos or something? Is there a way to turn them to manual sync only or completely off?

I use a Galaxy S7 running 6.0.1

I don't like how they just suddenly started doing things i never chose...

If you've been taking lots of pictures recently, it could be related to Google Photos Auto Backup. Open Google Photos and check the settings -- if Backup & Sync is turned on, try turning it off temporarily and see if that makes a difference. Samsung Cloud might be doing something similar -- check out the FAQ: samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/samsung-cloud
