LG G4 screen problem

Hello,

I have a LG G4 which recently went into a reboot loop so I had to have it fixed. Now afterwards I sometimes have troubles with the screen becoming very dark. It is as though the brightness is set to only a few %, except I haven't set it like that and nothing changes when I change the brightness. Then suddenly it may come back to normal. Sometimes it helps rebooting, most times not. Right now it has been like this all evening and although I have excellent night vision, it is still difficult to see what's on the screen. The screen itself works fine when I use it. I don't remember having this issue before the phone had the motherboard replaced due to the reboot loop.

Anyone else had this problem?

Is anything covering up your ambient light sensor?

Yes sometimes cheap screen protectors will do this.

I still have the screen protector on that the phone came with. So removing it might help?

It just came back out of nowhere, but the problem will return, I'm sure. Where is the ambient light sensor located on the phone?

Mine started getting squanky after the Marshmallow update, now it has a mind of it's own. I've just given up.
