custom kernel on stock rom, rooted

Is it possible to flash a custom kernel onto a rooted optimus s with stock 2.2.2?

yes, just put in on your sd card and flash it from recovery. put an app such as cputuner or setcpu to control your overclock

I was afraid of that. I can't get xionia to install. I've tried Romtools to install it but keep getting a closed error, and I'm ADB intolerent so I guess I won't be trying this tonight. Sad face :'(

DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER or ROM TOOLS!!!

ADB is your friend.
