Permanent Brick?

I have a friend who installed rom manager and said he flashed recovery using it, well as i found out with a little research rom manager doesn't support the optimus, so his phone won't boot into recovery now, and he tried clearing settings through the menu>privacy which results in a brick, so i'm just trying to find out if theres anything that can be done
