Encrypting rooted, custom ROM?

The bootloader on this phone is unlocked. It is running a rooted, debloated 5.1.1 ROM from XDA Developers.

Will I I have any issues encrypting it?
Second question, are there any better apps than the stock encryption app on the device?

You shouldn't have any issues; however, I would suggest checking with the ROM developer or the Users with the same ROM to see if there have been any report issues encrypting. As far as encryption, the stock encryption works great.

How much performance hit does it take?
Noticeably slower? Or not?
