AOD brightness Good Lock/LockStar not working

Extra dim seemed to make it dimmer than it normally would be in general, but the min brightness still seems the same whether extra dim is on or not. Again, I think that's just hitting the min hardware limit. Thanks for the comments, but I've wasted enough time on this, and have a working...

AOD brightness Good Lock/LockStar not working

I ultimately determined that the phone manufacturer sets a min and max brightness in hardware, and apps can only work within those ranges. I think Good Lock was changing the aod brightness, but there isn't enough range in the hardware to get any dimmer. For now, I have a thin piece of tinted...

AOD brightness Good Lock/LockStar not working

Greetings, I just replaced my S10e with an S21, and I'm trying to get things working as they need to. I know that for some silly reason they removed the AOD brightness option, which is unfortunate. Most complain that this is too dim, and it might be for daylight use, but I have this on a...

    Bluetooth range problems

I just found this, which is a fantastic video describing the difference between BT 4 and 5. Bottom line is that they somewhat mislead us by saying it's faster, and has longer range. It CAN be faster at short ranges, up to the same range as BT 4. It also CAN be much longer range, but at a...

    Bluetooth range problems

But I'm not changing the environment in general. I am changing interface specs, from old to new, which is supposed to be far better. It's like replacing your 100 hp engine with a 500 hp engine, but finding out the car isn't any faster. It would have been interesting to test it out in the...

    Bluetooth range problems

I understand attenuation, and issues with other RF devices, but there should still be some improvement. Turning the wifi on would be in interesting test. It's set to auto now. I fear it would be hard on the battery life though, which was always my second biggest complaint.

    Bluetooth range problems

Greetings, I previously had an S7 phone, and the Gear S3 watch. The biggest complaint I have about that combination was the poor bluetooth range. I would like to leave the phone on the desk at home, and be able to roam around the house without losing connection. Despite how small our house...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? As a final update, I'm happy to report that my battery life is greatly improved. Over the past two days, I've only lost connection to BT once briefly inside the house, and my battery usage has dropped to 2.1 % per hour. It's really nice to be able to put it on...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? I've done a few experiments, and the only thing that's come out of it so far is increasing my BT range. I have some RF experience, and I know that it's really not a good idea to put wireless devices near each other if you can help it. I've always kept the phone...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? I think the watch face was one of the original choices- Simple Digital Dark. I might try the most basic face as a test, but I'd sell the watch if I couldn't use a face that has the info I want on it. As for signal strength of the cellular, you have an...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? Wow! I can only dream of such performance. I'm at 52% now after 13 hours of very limited use, and almost entirely in range of BT. If I go in the living room (where the BT kicks in and out) and watch TV a couple hours, I'll be lucky to be at 20% by the time I...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? I suppose the watch could be defective, but it is better than the S2 was, though not by much. The S3 battery isn't that much bigger, and of course there's a larger display and faster CPU, so I wouldn't expect the S3 to be all that much better in battery life. I...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? Galaxy S7. I had 3 different phones over the course of using the Gear S2 watch, and I never noticed any difference in BT range when changing phones. I joke that BT is line-of-sight, assuming you're nearsighted :-) I tried experimenting this afternoon, and...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

Re: Direct WiFi- Battery life? That's the really odd thing about it. Some people seem to have pretty good battery life, and others don't. My S2 made it through a normal day pretty easily at the house we were in last year, but the living room was literally on the other side of the wall from...

    Battery life- Bluetooth interference

(I changed the subject line after determining that the problem was with BT interference. Hopefully it will help with future searches) Greetings, I've been struggling with battery life on the previous S2, and sadly, the S3 isn't any better. The only way I could ever get through a whole...
