I am having a similar problem. I check the allow usb debugging. but once I plug in the usb to comp. the allow usb debugging turns off, grey. I have tried it on my lg risio and my lg optimus.. I am going to look for a debugging app and install it on my phone.If any one has suggestions I am all ears.

I had several text messages saved on my phone for several months. I decided not to send them a few months later 12 test messages some how got sent over a 2 day period.

does it come on when it is plugged in? I had one that the battery was fully charged. as soon as it booted up it would say it was dead and shut itself off. I figured it was a virus and bough a new phone.

I had some drafted text sent from my phone. I was unaware of. Phone was also acting possessed. I would make one keystroke and get 4 characters. Is this a virus. Phone had cracked screen also.

I bought a Samsung phone and was able to view my messages. Thanks Everyone for all your help. I found out that TracPhone (, net10, straight talk) no longer supports Samsung Kies or Smart Switch.

What kinda things your phone do? Would it send drafted texts? start apps on its own?

I just talked to Samsung they said I need a phone with android 4.1 or higher. I will let you know how it worked out.

That was my next question. Wow u r like the swammie. The digitizer pad and the sim card are missing on the old phone. I guess I will get a hold of Samsung. Unless someone has a better idea. Or has a friend in the National Security Counsel. LOL

BTW I tried Open office spreadsheet. no luck.

Thanks for your help. SMEstands for Samsung Message Encryption. And kies doesn't read it. I think I am going to try a cheap Samsung phone. Any advice there on what type of phone. $ is an issue.

Tried file viewer pro....a virus. Has any one tried abylon reader??

I am having the same problem. The digitizer pad is out on my S3. I was able to create a messages.sme file from my phone on to my laptop. but I have no way of opening it. I tried FileVeiwer Pro. It is just a fake to put a virus on your computer.

Hey that kies program worked. I was able to back up my messages to my laptop.. It is a messages.sme file. What would be the best way to open that?
