The term "flagship" is meaningless. Does the phone (ANY phone) do what you need it to do, in a manner and at a price you consider reasonable. If yes, huzzah, you have the right phone for you. If it does not, fine a phone that does. The word "flagship" should not enter anyone's thinking.

I've been using the 3a XL and 4a 5G from T-Mobile for the last 2 years and now the 6 Pro from T-Mobile, and I have never had to wait for an update. They have always been available on the date they are launched. I cannot speak for other carriers.

For me it's because over my time with a phone I tend to install apps that I never use, but can't get myself to uninstall because "I may need it some day." When I install clean, I only install apps as I need them when I actually need them and I can paid down the cruft.
