Do Samsung Arm Chromebooks eventually slow down?

I get funny quotes on my battery life and it definitely doesn't last as long anymore but I haven't noticed significant slowdown. I think the speed is more of an issue in that I notice it now after using an HP 14 as well, haha! Some newer websites are definitely slower though. I've hit up a...

    Quick Chromebook mini-reviews

The skin you have on your Acer is great! The Toshiba Chromebook 2 comes in a variant with a 13'' 1080p IPS screen and is my pick for current best chromebook. The original HP 14 with a Haswell and 4 GB of RAM is still my top pick for a chromebook. I own one too, in turquoise, and it's a real...

    Using Chromebooks offline

I had some issues with MTP as I recall but I haven't messed with it in a while. I love my chromebooks (I own two of them) but I'm still not ready to use them as my sole computer. There is a lot of stuff I have to do on my Mac but I find Chrome OS has me covered for everything I might need...

    What would you do?

There isn't much to sell the old Samsung 303 these days (and I'm typing on one right now!) It was great back when it came out in late 2012 but it is pretty slow compared to newer chromebooks. TBH I wouldn't pay much more than $80 for one.

    Streaming with a Chromebook

I've run into some compatibility issues with streaming websites. Dish Network comes to mind as their streaming services will not work on my chromebook. ESPN 3, MLB.tv, NFL Rewind, and CBS have all worked for me. Chromebooks have a flash plug-in baked into the OS so you won't have issues...

Thinking about getting a Chromebook for school, any suggestions?

The screen on the Pixel has to be seen to be believed but it is absolutely a luxury device. It has some of the best components in a chromebook. Even with the old Ivy Bridge chipset, it's still packing a really good i5 CPU. That said, Chrome OS's system requirements are so minor that you...

If you were wanting to buy a chromebook

I don't have a very high opinion of the HP 14 refresh. Losing the Haswell CPU for a Tegra? Ehhh But I do Linux voodoo on my chromebook so having an Intel CPU really increases the amount of software available to me. The Toshiba 2 looks good, the screen has been reviewed very favorably...

Amazon now shipping Toshiba chromebook 2

If I would have known they were going to ship early, I probably would have bought one. I've got to wait a couple of weeks to get mine. Ahh well. I thought there was going to be a 32 GB version though. I really want that screen but I don't know if it would be a smart buy to go from the HP...

Does this set tone for Chromebook hardware design?

The 1080p IPS screen is certainly something I've been waiting for. It still doesn't hit all the buttons I want but it gets enough of them that I'm on board. I feel like the OEMs are still floating around trying to keep chromebooks under $400 USD while finding ways to get SOME of the features...

    Anyone excited for this?

I've been waiting for this screen. I plan to preorder it as soon as it becomes available. I think the moderate decrease in performance vs my current HP 14 will be well worth the money. I'm not super keen to give up my mobile broadband but realistically I don't use it that much as my phone...

picked up an HP Chromebook 14 (16GB/4GB) - my first thoughts

Yeah, the screen is real garbage. It is my one complaint about the HP 14. I've an eye on Toshiba's recent chromebook refresh which is going to sport a 1080p IPS screen. The internals will not be quite as good as the HP 14 but I expect the moderate decrease in performance will be made up for...

Is the Nexus 10 worth picking up still?

I've been wanting to update from my G1 N7 to a 10" tablet for some time. After looking at the Note 10.1 pretty close, I decided I'd rather stick with a stock Android build. N10 has some nice discounts now but is it a worthwhile step up in performance over the N7? (Either gen really) Sent...

    iOS 8, Your Thoughts?

AirDrop and Handoff will be huge for me since my desktop computer is a Mac Mini. I don't think it is enough to pull me away from Android, if for no other reason than the sheer number of apps I own on Android. It might sell me on an iPad though. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Best option when using Chrome Remote Desktop

My guess is the i3 Dell Chromebook will be a speedy little machine that'll excel in Enterprise environments. You'll have to wait for any of these systems to come to market though so if you need a device right now, the Asus Chromebox is your best bet. The Haswell celeron should be adequate...

Which Chrome book do you own?

Haha, I still use my Samsung 3 frequently and I was thinking the same! I really didn't need to update to the HP 14, but it sure feels good! I'm thinking of trading in my G1 Nexus 7 next for a Windows 8.1 tablet. I tell myself I could use a newer tablet but really, let the tech redundancy...
