yes, I have seen a number of complaints, the exact same issues. I cleared the cache and data, restarted and it worked, for a while. Then did a soft reset, which worked, for a while...the issue keeps recurring! Another fix, is to switch on flight mode, for a few moments, then turn it off...

The application began to act up again tonight, out of the blue...so I found a suggestion on Facebook forums. Try turning on Flight mode for a few moments, then turn it off. Then restart the device. I did that, and the next time FB started up, it was fine.

yes I did those things! It didn't work, so I deleted the data for those apps. It would work, then stop working. Maybe the update caused bugs or corruption. It was just better to do a soft reset and then just reinstall everything.

I did just that. Seems to have worked. Just back up first!!!

That is exactly what I did. Backed up and did a factory reset. Sure enough: GMail now syncs. All facebook issues gone...for now at least. All my data was on a Samsung cloud and everything is right as rain. Try the soft reset and it should do the trick.
