Facebook app saying can't connect

I have the same issue with the FB app on my Note4.
But I can login from browser and PC OK.
"Login Failed: Sorry, unable to login. Please check your internet connection."

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated FB...still doen't work.
I have also uninstalled FB messenger too.
Tried the power mode too...not working.

This happen after the recent Mash upgrade and security upgrade.

Appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Same exact problem here!
Plus it won't connect to certain pages. Personal pages, fine...if I try to connect to a page for a business or commercial etc...Can't connect and check your internet settings. Which are FINE!
It won't edit my search or my activity log.
I deleted the cache and data, started over, it worked fine...then started effing up again! Thank god I'm not alone!

Yep, got the latest Android Update and it's affecting other apps. Gmail is taking FOREVER to sync my messages, for some weirdo reason. I had to delete the data and restart.
Somehow, android's 6.0.1 has a lot of bugs affecting certain apps. I thought it was my phone, or corrupted files etc. But it seems to be widespread. BTW I just got this phone 3 months ago and until 3 days ago it worked great, except for some wifi issues in dead-zone areas.

That is exactly what I did. Backed up and did a factory reset. Sure enough:
GMail now syncs.
All facebook issues gone...for now at least.

All my data was on a Samsung cloud and everything is right as rain. Try the soft reset and it should do the trick.

For me, sometimes I have to restart the phone and then Gmail and Facebook will connect. It happens rarely though. I wonder if your password changed because that will cause it. when you reset your Google password, you have to re-login to your android phone since it runs off of the google account. I would think perhaps, restart the device, logout then back in, or try it first on the internet, and then try the app. Hope it helps!

yes I did those things! It didn't work, so I deleted the data for those apps. It would work, then stop working.
Maybe the update caused bugs or corruption. It was just better to do a soft reset and then just reinstall everything.

An update, I did the factory reset on my S6 and all was swell.
Then I noticed the Facebook issue again: can't connect, not updating, and certain pages not connecting. So I cleared the data and restarted, problem solved. I don't know if the whole cycle will start again. I was in an area where there is lousy service anyways, and I also noticed my Twitter and Gmail being slow to sync.
Facebook is working again, but if it craps out again...my phone was perfect since i got in in April. Since the 6.0.1 update the apps, specifically Facebook are wonky. So it's either the operating system or the apps or the phone, but most likely the other two. Meanwhile we're at the mercy of this crappy system that's screwing with our phones! GRRR!

The application began to act up again tonight, out of the blue...so I found a suggestion on Facebook forums. Try turning on Flight mode for a few moments, then turn it off.
Then restart the device.
I did that, and the next time FB started up, it was fine.

Add me to the list of those experiencing the I'unable to login. Please check your internet connection' issue. Have done everything, including factory reset and minimal back-up restore. Tried all the hints in here (including the flight mode one above), nothing. Good to know I am not alone. But my S5 is up for replacement and I am truly considering an iPhone off the back of this...

I have the same issue on a Samsung Note 3, do not believe it is the phone all other apps work fine, and I can connect to Facebook via the internet on the same device without issues. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, factory reset, power saving off and on, nothing works, think Im just going to delete my facebook account and move on, I cant get them to answer my query either been a month now

For a while the problem seemed to be solved, but then pops up again. Every once in a while, I just clear the cache and data.
