    Well... I started with 1.5 Cupcake (HTC Hero???) and 1.6 Donut (Xperia X10i). Currently on 4.4.2 (Moto G) and 4.3 (Xperia SP).

    You need your desired RUU ( Shipped ROMs ) and flash it. You have to check your bootloader if its unlocked. If so then first relock it it to be able receive OTA.

    Try flash japanese ROM ? I checked here Firmware archive | Samsung Updates , but doesn't seem to have japanese localisation. Try some korean ROM, it may contain japanese language...
