Confirmed...if I leave wifi on all the time, the autowake works perfectly, no matter how long it's on standby. Good find!

Interesting...I do have mine set to shut off wifi when not in use. I'll try leaving it on tonight and see what happens.

Further followup...I think it's actually the case that has the issue. After messing around with opening the case a few different ways (disconnect the top magnet first then the bottom, etc) I was able to get the tablet to wake consistently by disconnecting the bottom magnet first. Weird.

Followup...I've tried with two other cases that have the auto wake magnet, and had the same result...it's like the auto wake has a limited window before it requires you to push the power button. First world problem, I know...still annoying. :)

Hi, Started using the "SUPCASE New Google Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Generation Tablet Slim Fit Folio Leather Case" and it's pretty nice, including the magnetic auto wake/auto sleep function. If you're using the tablet > close the case > Nexus goes to sleep. If you open the cover back up within 5 minutes...
