Nexus 5 issues with SMS/MMS on Marshmallow

I did the cache partition wipe. The SMS issue may have been due to a conflict with SMS backup. Also, you need to set Chrome as the default browser. Most issues calmed down after another 24 hours. The dialer app issues (delay) and the BT car connection issues (inconsistent connection for...

Nexus 5 issues with SMS/MMS on Marshmallow

I am having a terrible time with Marshmallow. Apps and OS are laggy. Calls take forever to dial out. Calls initiated from phone while in car do not connect to car BT. SMS messages will not send. Phone does not lock on auto sleep, despite setting to lock after 5 seconds. All in all the...

Got Marshmallow OTA, not impressed with Doze at all.

I agree. Battery life does not seem much improved if at all. Phone also really laggy. Hangouts won't send SMS messages properly.

Why don't my Car Bluetooth outgoing calls ring?

Re: Car Bluetooth outgoing call doesn't ring I was having problems with BT after the Marshmallow update. I deleted the phone from the car settings and re-paired. It is better now. I have been having a not-so-great time with Marshmallow. Phone is really laggy and SMS messages are not going...

    Advice for NFC Tags

I have been having issues with the uConnect bluetooth in my Jeep. Apparently, the uConnect software has not been updated to deal with BT for newer OS versions (including the iPhone). I have a Nexus 5--unrooted--with Lollipop. In the car, I have a ProClip bracket that is L shaped. On the top...

'I've Ordered a Nexus 5' Thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Yes . . . well . . . I did answer my own question with a Google search (I know I should have done it first). But sometimes, well, stuff like work gets in the way of reading absolutely everything out there about the newest device. The replaceable battery has been something that I have been...

'I've Ordered a Nexus 5' Thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Does it have a user-replaceable battery? The GNex has that and I have a spare battery for long days. The pics online do not show a back cover . . . I would hate to give that up. But definitely considering getting the N5. ~aviduser

How to get Fast (AC) charging for your Android Phone

Ever notice how your phone doesn't always pull the full 1 amp from that 1000 milliamp charger? There is a reason for this. USB charging is limited to 500 mA. If the charger doesn't tell the phone that it is not a USB port, it will not draw more than 500 mA. How does the charger tell the...

    ICS Battery Performance

The first really big issue I had was this: the Tab was DEAD after 12 hours of NO use. I did some searching and found that allowing WiFi to sleep when the Tab sleeps is good for battery life. After changing this setting, the battery is pretty good. Anyone else with similar issues? aviduser

ICS 4.04 - What cool changes are you noticing?

OK. Update done. So far--it over-wrote my home screen app layout, so I have to re-do that entirely. Sheesh. Apps updating now.
