Got Marshmallow OTA, not impressed with Doze at all.

So, Doze is supposed to save battery Not on my Nexus 5. Went to sleep with 87%. Woke up with 76%. After only a couple of minutes it is now 68%and falling rapidly. What the heck?

In my battery stats I see that Android system guzzled the battery. Bizarrely there's no apps listed but the OS drains battery anyway.

Marshmallow doesn't seem to be any better than Lollipop on battery. In fact, I swear this is worse! I'm disappointed. Can't wait for my Sony Z5 Compact replacement to arrive, my first one had stellar standby time when put it into Stamina mode which seems to do a much better job than Doze.

Can this be fixed in an update or is Doze just not as great as it was hyped up to be?

I agree. Battery life does not seem much improved if at all. Phone also really laggy. Hangouts won't send SMS messages properly.

I'm trying to install the update now. It was updating, but when I just checked the phone it had shut off and I had to turn it back on, now it resumed from the place where it was on the progress bar. I'm getting worried.

I think Google made the mistake of making doze activate automatically when they should have given us the option to turn it on manually. Everyone is so concerned about super thin phones that we get stuck with small batteries. The manufacturers are focused on battery life through software, I say give me a bigger battery and software optimization. Why does it have to be one or the other?

The drain has settled down now. I'm now getting equivalent battery life to Lollipop. It's still not activating on my Nexus 5 overnight, or at any time seemingly. The standby drain is very pronounced compared to my Z5 Compact running Lollipop with Stamina mode engaged, which basically looks like flat line (that's how Doze should be).
