When I am on my app home screen, the status bar on top (clock, battery percentage, notification icons) disappears unless I scroll down from the top. It stays static while an app is open and being used. How to I freeze it to not disappear? Using nova launcher if that makes a difference...

Has anyone figured out how to get notifications on the drop down menu like previous versions of Android? It seems like I have to touch the phone on the left side of the camera in order to get a separate status bar for notifications
