    tethering

I assume you are using the Temp Root to try and use this anyway, but I seem to have run across quite a few posts saying that wifi tether still isn't working. Most people are reporting that barnacle tether is the only one working currently.

GPS on/off icon in notification bar

I should also point out that there are a number of reasons why you are getting a pinpoint location. The first reason could be that you probably weren't moving at the time you checked maps. The network triangulation can be quite accurate if you aren't moving. Try maps again when you are in a...

GPS on/off icon in notification bar

Nothing is being forced on you. The pull down menu settings only turns off the GPS radio. If you truly want to disable any and all location fixes, you have to turn off the Use Wireless Networks setting in the settings -> location control panel. By doing that, you can only enable/disable the...

GPS on/off icon in notification bar

Tasker only turns off the actual GPS radio. Location fixes can still be made, albeit much more inaccurately, via triangulation of the cell towers your phone sees, as well as with wifi GPS triangulation (if you have wifi on). I also use tasker to turn off GPS and this works perfectly for...

Google Voice w/Sprint - Texts showing up twice

This is also a good option, but you lose the capability to have your texts available on multiple devices if you use the service like that. Technically you can still get them by having them forwarded, but your replies will come from a separate GV phone number, rather than your sprint number. I...

Google Voice w/Sprint - Texts showing up twice

I think I misunderstood what you are trying to do. You want voicemails on the GV app, texts on the default messaging app. It's doable, but a bit flaky because when you integrate Google Voice, the idea is that it's a replacement for the default messaging app and sprint's voicemail. There are...

    tethering

Hey! Nice to see another Fargo user on the boards! I'm actually going to Minneapolis next week so I'll finally get to try out some 4G action on this thing. And it will probably be the only time, since Sprint is unlikely to ever bring it around here...

Google Voice w/Sprint - Texts showing up twice

They technically should come in to both, but what you want to do is go into the google voice app and turn off the notifications. That way you will only see notifications from the normal messaging app.

Podcatching app that starts on reboot

Well, I'm a dumbass. Doggcatcher does do this, but the setting is under a different menu. Its under preferences - miscellaneous - start on boot. I never dug deep enough in to the menus to find it as I assumed that just setting the feed update interval would kick it in automatically. I also...

HTC Car Dock for the EVO 3D

$59 now, or $18 (non OEM) from Amazon in a month. I think I'll wait.

Does the evo 3d come with any other game than spiderman 3d..

    Agry Birds 3D. Nuff said.

Is it me or does some 3d pics you take have jag edges

It's hard to understand exactly what you mean, but have you tried messing with the 3D adjustment setting? If you tap on a picture after taking it and click the magic wand, you should see an option for 3D adjustment. See if that helps. I've found that almost every 3D pic I've taken makes my...

Podcatching app that starts on reboot

Doggcatcher is really, really nice, but $7. Probably worth it, but I wish the downloader would kick in automatically. Otherwise I've been using hapi podcast. It's realy simplistic and does basically what I want. Check for new podcasts on an interval, and download them. And it's free. If...
