Try enabling Developer Options & switch "Runtime Mode" to "ART". Helped a little with the lag time & freezing/removing battery problems. May have to switch it back to "DALVIK" if you find things not working. For example, while running ART, my PIN wasn't recognized when I tried to turn on...

I enabled Developer Options & switched Runtime Mode to *ART* It's helped a bit with lag & freeze issues. But you have to switch back to *Dalvik* for PIN to be recognized in Private Mode. Running ART might affect other stuff, both positively & negatively, so take care to NOTE WHAT YOU ARE...

I hate that screen too! My HTC didn't do things like that, so my Galaxy S5 is forever freezing up. I've found this phone takes WAY too many taps to perform simple functions. When a call ends, the phone should just go back to the keypad. Posted via Android Central App

My S5 gets freezes up & shuts off with no warning about mid-day every day. It won't respond unless I remove the battery for a few minutes. When I replace the battery, I have to wait again before I dare turn it on. If I turn it on too soon, it doesn't load/boot (I don't know the terminology)...

I have that same problem. I want to be able to send and receive MMS but not use my mobile data why can't it just work over wifi? By the way I'm on a galaxy s5 on AT&T. I am your stand turning it on to send and receive for now but I don't want to have to use my data plan, that's stupid!!!
