It seems like apps - and just about everything else - is by default placed in internal storage so I constantly am running out of internal space even though I have a large SD card. How can I make apps (and ideally everything) install to the SD card by default? I realize some apps "cannot" (???)...

In Android 7, when I go to the Settings/Home Screen/Hide Apps menu, I can check the boxes on the apps I want to hide, which suggests I should SEE the other apps - but no. I there are apps showing - with boxes unchecked - but the apps aren't on any of my home screens. They're also not in any...
