I don't think KitKat will do as well as Jelly Bean, it won't be Honeycomb, but it will have a shorter lifespan than Jelly Bean and maybe even ICS. As for Jelly Bean becoming the next Gingerbread, yes I do believe that will be the case.

I have since fixed my problem, turns out it will only install an app if it gets it from a Google service like Dropbox or Google Drive and not a third party website/service. Bit annoying but it'll have to do.

I'm not planning on installing it onto my device, it's quite hard to run being open world and quite graphically intensive, I have it on PC anyway.

That's a stupid question to ask, that's like asking a homeless person why he doesn't "Just get a house". It's not a bad phone at all for the price, quite a low-end budget phone but I'm sure you could squeeze some reasonable performance out of it.

I've tried and tested a lot of launchers but nothing beats Nova Launcher Prime.

Don't know about the other two but Marshmallow seems inevitable.

I have a phone with soft buttons but I personally prefer physical buttons, I can't really find any positives for soft buttons.
