I hope so! I submitted feedback so they're (Textra) aware of it, and they updated a while back to observe the Lollipop priority sound mode, which is encouraging.

I'd posted this in the general 5.1 thread before seeing this one, but got the update here 2 days ago for my N5. Initially no problems and maybe a bit faster, but starting yesterday having very weird formatting and compatibility issues with Textra when receiving MMS.

Nexus 5 (T-Mobile) here, and received the OTA 5.1 update Thurs. evening (3/12). Was working well except having issues now with Textra and pics sent by others showing up as oddly formatted text and app crashing.

Update: I should have thought to try this before, but ripern's mention of screen lock permissions made me think I should see if there's a feature I can disable within Textra to avoid this. I checked the settings and disabled "Quick Compose" since that allows replies from the notification...

Re: Lollipop disappointments That does make sense -- thanks! I wasn't sure if "none" would still show the usual blinking green indicator light for texts or essentially I'd have to open my SMS app to see any new messages (which would be silly and unhelpful).

Re: Lollipop disappointments Ah, that makes sense. The only app I've noticed it with so far is Textra. I miss silent mode because I still want to see my incoming calls, messages, etc. when I'm at work so I know whether they require attention, but I don't want my phone chirping and vibrating...

Re: Lollipop disappointments I've tried that because I read it was the workaround for a lack of "silent" mode in Lollipop, and I still get audible notifications for texts coming through. I don't get it!

See this thread (same forum): forums.androidcentral.com/android-5-0-lollipop/465232-lollipop-black-screen.html Sounds similar to your problem, and although there are no easy fixes there are some potentially helpful suggestions.

I haven't tried yet, no... I hate to get rid of it because I really like Textra and this is the first I've had any trouble with it, but I guess I'll have to download another messaging app and see if it does better. Although another SMS app is likely to have screen lock permissions as well...

Can confirm that Lollipop 5.0.1 does not resolve the issue. On my n5 this happens exclusively using Textra, and I actually thought it was a problem with their app until I contacted them and they'd never heard of it. After poking around I came across this forum / thread, so clearly it isn't...
