    Chrome crypto-news pop up

Woe is me! I tried Adware Detector but it found nothing. My list of All Apps does not have a blank entry. None of the 5 virus scanners I've tried found anything. Deleting Chrome & re-installing does not fix the problem. My phone runs the latest version of Pie and the thought if doing a Factory...

Why haven't I got the Lollipop 5.1.1 update?

Re: Lollipop 5.1.1 update I sideloaded 5.1.1 yesterday with no problems. It is a small update but I wiped the cache partition anyway just to be safe. So far I have not noticed any differences.

    Android Lollipop 5.1.0 factory image

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0 The real OTA files are now available. Just Google Nexus5 5.1 OTA.

    Android Lollipop 5.1.0 factory image

Re: Android Lollipop 5.1.0 Note that as of 10 Mar 2015 only the TGZ file is posted - which means you have to flash the file, and this requires erasing all data on your phone. At some point there will be a ZIP file posted (somewhere) which can be sideloaded. This does not require wiping the phone.

How to back-up Nexus 5 OTB

I've tried them all and the only one that seems to actually work the way you want it to is Holo Backup. The reason for this is that it is the only method that actually backs up everything in the phone, and it does this by sending the appropriate DOS command string to the ADB program that runs...

Can I switch from CDMA to GSM and back again?

My Nexus5 has a Sprint CDMA SIM card in it and works A-OK here in the USA. (My cell service is actually provided by Ting, but they use the Sprint network.) Later this year I'll be spending some time in Italy (oh yummy!) and would like to swap out my CDMA SIM for an Italian GSM one. So - 2...

Share your Nexus 5 camera photos, videos, and thoughts!

https://flic.kr/s/aHsk6Fp8Wf My GX7 stayed at home for this trip but my Nexus5 did better than I expected. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is simply excellent, but of course it's noisy and has poor lighting for photography. I deleted lots of shots but I thought these were worth sharing.

Factory image/OTA for Nexus 5 5.0.1 update available

I just performed a SideLoad of 5.01 and the whole process was smooth as silk. My phone is now running 6.01 with no problems - not that I had any before. I've yet to see any list of changes included in the 5.01 update - perhaps they are all "behind the scenes" ones that are not visible at the...

    Worst update ever

I totally disagree with the OP. Lollipop has been great on my Nexus5 and I have had no problems at all. Perhaps the reason has to do with how the update was installed. I did a SideLoad on my Nexus 5 because I did not want to go through the hassle of a factory reset. People need to be aware...

    Sideloading the Lollipop update?

No - sideloading installs the same software as the OTA version. http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-5/461363-i-got-lollipop-heres-how-do.html

I got Lollipop and here's how to do it

srkmagnus Nicely done web page on how to flash a new version - but in the middle of the page it says the process will "factory reset your device, so you will lose everything stored on it. " This is precisely what my original post was intended to avoid - I wanted to show how to get Lillipop...

Why is my Nexus 5 Manual OTA Stuck?

Re: Nexus 5 Manual OTA Stuck! Noah Wass: Are you using a MAC? I read another post here where several MAC users have encountered the same problem using the Safari browser to do the download. But one said he tried IE11 and that one worked OK. I have no idea why this should matter, but...

Why is my Nexus 5 Manual OTA Stuck?

Re: Nexus 5 Manual OTA Stuck! Check to see that the size of your zip file matches the correct size. The correct file size is 502,777,5160 bytes; size on disk is 502,779,904.

I got Lollipop and here's how to do it

I have updated my original post to include the link to download the proper Lollipop ZIP file. I have no idea why the link didn't appear in my original post. But oh well. I also added the steps provided by Nexuslover27 on how to install the basic Nexus USB driver. Thanks for that - it sure...

Excellent! Thanks. Not sure how I missed that - but I did.
