ok you need to turn off the auto retrieve off on your stock msg app. i have no issues with that. plus you need to turn of the stock msg widget anyway. just use handcent. its the best msg app out. hope this helps. if not let me know and ill help with what i can.

i am very impressed with the batter life on this thing. and i cant wait for it to be rooted so we can see the work ahead for the devs. they will make this thing just flat out ridiculous. one thing i like is you dont have to bump charge this thing. im waiting for my batteries i ordered on ebay...

so , i have been having some really annoying stuff going on with my 3d since day 1. every time i turn it off and turn it back on , on the home screen, any apps that i have downloaded from the market and short cutted out of the drawer to the home screen, the icons change to just a green icon...

all you have to do is format your new card. but a lil info for you. i stuck with the 8gb stock class 4 card over my 16gb class 2 card. make sure you dont end up getting a junk 32gb card just for the storage. cause your gonna want the best performance card for this phone. imo 8gb class 4 is...

i had issues with restoring rooted data with my backup pro. it skipped some things but did others. guess it depends on which app data your wanting to restore.

handcent is my fav app. have it on my 3d and works great. as far as making it your only app. heres what you do just like with the 4g. open your reg msg app. and turn off auto retrieve msgs. and then turn off receive notifications. then the only notification you get is handcent.it works great...
