I just got a brand new Stylus 5G (early August 2021) and it is on the April 2021 security patch. Is this the most current? I have tried checking for updates manually and it says this is most current. This patch level is so old it shows a red icon in the Android system security overview page...

I prefer the 'standard" Moto X4 over the Android One version. Moto's 'custom' version of Android is still very clean and they have a pretty decent track record of updating it. At least a few times the Moto version of Android was updated before the Android One version - which makes no sense but...

Camera version is 7.2.23.5 I don't have Depth Enabled photo as one of the camera modes (see screenshot) although spot Color and text scanner are there. When I look at a photo later in Google Photos the ability your screenshot shows is just not there.

I saw those instructions but those are for the old camera app. the new Moto camera app removed the three dots menu on the view finder screen. Has anyone tried this in the new camera app and confirmed it works? I think it is gone....

Did Moto quietly remove the selective focus feature from the camera app? It is still proudly highlighted on Moto's X4 product page but I cannot find it anywhere in the camera app... Spot Color is still there, but not selective focus. Am I crazy? Or it it really missing in action?

My wife and I both have the X4. For two phones that should be absolutely identical, there are small differences. One of the most annoying is that the power button + volume down screenshot function worked perfectly on mine and never works on hers. I have tried everything and cannot get her...

X4 is physically smaller than Z2F. X4 is already on 8.1 with Aug security. X4 has wide angle secondary camera. X4 is IP68 water resistant. X4 has a headphone jack. X4 has the no-burn-in LCD panel with a glass cover screen. X4 has the multiple Bluetooth speaker party mode. Z2F has AMOLED screen...

That's what the rumor mill suggests. Hope that is not true.

We didn't do a detailed test but I. Sample shots we took inside and out we both preferred the Moto pictures more than the Essential. Not a huge difference but the Moto pix seemed sharper and the colors were better (more saturated).
