Text message issues after update to 7.0 Nougat

Sorry for the delayed response. Open messages app, click the screens button, square bottom right. You'll see the messages app has a little pin icon on it. Click that. Messages doesn't close after that even when you close all screens. I'm on Rogers and there was a bug update to 7.0 yesterday so...

Text message issues after update to 7.0 Nougat

Actually I seem to have a temporary work around. Just thru trial and error, I tried "pinning" the messaging app about 2 weeks ago and haven't missed a text since. It's an annoying solution but seems to work.

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

Respectfully, I don't think the detect issue is software related. I've now done about 50 hack fixes with the spacer under the bezel and they're working mostly very well. A couple report and error once every 3 or 4 weeks. Also about a month ago, I did one (my first) S4 NFC controller IC...

Text message issues after update to 7.0 Nougat

Likely will but nice tiered up support requests on behalf of customers many times, and over. Some 10 years, I've yet to see tier two solve much.

Text message issues after update to 7.0 Nougat

Speaking for myself (not the OP) Rogers doesn't seem to have any idea. Standard stuff; reboot, battery pull, complete wipe. Really of no help. They simply read the appropriate page from the book. Steve...

Text message issues after update to 7.0 Nougat

Same phone and exactly the same issue here. Certain texts are missing and certain ones show up. Very frustrating.

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

Sure thing. I should have one in this week for that exact fix. I'll do a video for it. Spoiler Alert.... I suck at videos...

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

I did have a similar one in the other day that has sat for a few months then the problem re-started after about a weeks use. BUT, like I tell everyone, if it aint broke, don't fix it! Turns out I have another S4 coming in today or tomorrow with that issue. So, although I suck at making videos...

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

I hesitate to call it a fix. Really, it's a hack and not one that I'm proud of. I'm sure there's an SMD fix for this and once I categorically find out which component it is I'll start doing great. But yeah I can whip up a little video of the hack that seems to last well so far.

Hope that works out. We've. Found that method to be most effective when the spacer is thick enough to actually leave an outward bulge in the bezel.

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

Super glue is definitely not the answer. I've done about 25 of these. For the longest time we used the hack of thick 2 sided tape. Lately we've used the reflex method which avoids using 2 sided tape. You describe something I haven't seen where there is a "fit" problem. Maybe post a picture or...

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

If I wasn't having so much success (25+ units) with the foam under the bezel on top of the on board sim card pop connector, I would honestly try simply pulling the board and reflowing the solder on that connector. Gut is telling me that might do it but I don't want to argue with success thus far.

Galaxy S4: Major problem - SIM card not detected

Interesting. Based on results with the hack fix removing those screws would either do no good or possibly make it worse. Hey whatever works for you. ☺

You've tried pulling the bezel and foaming it? No change?
