I went into the settings of chomp and entered the APN MMS settings info and was good to go. That fixed it for me on AT&T.

I had the issue in a big way with the buttons. I rooted and installed a rom with the new update and my buttons work better then ever. As a side note, I have a screen protector on it as well.
