Great idea as well Mustang. I had not thought of that. I'll do that tomorrow and post results. Instead of finding out what it is, eliminate what it isn't and get closer to the issue.

Thank you for the welcome! :) and thanks for the follow up. Yes, I'm using the default app. I've had the same sim since approx 2012 (iPhone 5 until 2018 and then Samsung S7 until now). It's a very odd and non-consistent behavior. I'm trying to replicate it consistently which but no luck...

Hi Laura, thanks for the quick reply. I am also suspicious of the sim. I will pop by the telus store tomorrow and get a new one. Probably a good idea to do in any case since the sim is so old!

Hi! Hoping to get ome help troubleshooting my phone. Behaviour is that when I press a hot key in the phone app (long pressing "1" to access voicemail for example) the call seems to initiate but does not connect. After a minute or so, I figure there is a problem so I press the hang up button...
