on whether u need to use google...I honestly haven't tried without a gmail account. But everything seems to be tied into my email address...contacts sync, push email, google checkout, google talk, google voice, google maps....granted some of these thing aren't really needed...but my opinion is...

I can't seem to be able to find and of the above mentioed twitter apps. (Xeektweet, itweet) Not even when googling. I would say it comes down to your prefence. I'm still looking for something that displays pics what I click on the tweet in my timeline. Like ubertwitter. So far they all load them...

the separated entries will be listed like other contacts. But when separated, you will create several contacts with the same name. So you can now edit the individual contacts....

sorry...but ppl need the heads up...hard to explain on my part but I know a lot of ppl with the same back name...i come from a huge family. So it really messed up thing for me. Again..there is a Separate feature it does work... Also some ppl might know this...it is possible to search by company...

I couldn't agree with you more on the camera issue. Its probably what I miss most coming from my bb tour

First of, I'm coming from a bb tour. (also had a storm 1, and played with storm 2) I use my device at work, for emails and whatever entertainment comes to my head at home. I have to agree with you, I find the the platform is very stable...almost no sluggishness. And i have yet to crash mine...

I don't think it makes a difference in how you sync...its a contact issue on the phone itself. As ppl have stated above..even when creating new contacts on the phone..they will sometimes b merged.

I'm part of a company that is switching over to moto droids, we have 6 or 8 at this point We all had this issue This is definitely true. I had 750 contact in gmail. on the droid it combined then down to a nice 340 give or take. Some contacts had up to 7 numbers combined into a single contact...
