If you are game developer go to Unity, it is really awesome. For another application is great Android Studio. It is developed by google, so great support.

Nexus player will support all games where is not touch required for playing and navigation in menu. It simply must support gamepad, thats all :) There will be many games with Nexus Player supported. For example all games which are supported with nVidia Shield will be supported in Android TV too ;)

I think that you can move music to SD card, but you can play it only with Google Music application.

Unity, because I can do games with minimum programing experience :) I am 3D animator, but Unity is super easy, powerfull and with great graphic. Check new open beta 4.6 ;)
