Looks like changing from LTE/3G/2G to 3G/2G on the network settings fixed this, probably because my chip doesn't support LTE. What's odd is that it would still try to find an LTE signal even on airplane mode.

This is very strange, even with airplane mode, and everything disabled, the usage is of over 16% after 8hs idle! What's even worse, is that all the usage comes from the celular network, which shouldn't be happening with airplane mode, should it? Look at the below screenshot.
