    Textra and Android Auto

@cr500taco99 did you ever work this out? I just got a new car with android auto. When textra messages come in, I just get a "ding" sound and a counter in a white dot goes up. I don't even see who sent it unless I tap on that notification or on the textra icon in the launcher. None of the...

Trusted Voice: Say 'OK Google' to unlock phone - not working with AOD enabled

Att s9 plus with fingerprint and face detection unlocking. Edge lighting off, always on screen off, no trusted places or devices. "OK Google" wakes the screen up to the "use biometrics or enter pin" screen 100% of the time.

Remove myself from a group text

Try the Textra app. I believe it lets you 'blacklist' group conversations without blocking the individuals in the group conversation.

How can I turn off the SMS messages in Outlook Inbox on my Galaxy S6?

didn't work for me. I have "sync messages" off, and i'm still getting texts in outlook. I even removed and re-added the activesync account to my phone (galaxy s 6 edge), and made sure "sync messages" was unchecked during the initial account setup process.

    Google Now Reminder notificaton inconsistent

The developer of the "lightflow" app has told me that samsung basically did some non-standard stuff with notifications on the s6. In my case, Google now reminders consistently work on my s6. but if I hit the "remind me in 1 hour" snooze button, I never see another notification for that...

How do I add a vibration pattern to a contact group?

Re: How to add a vibration pattern to a contact group sigh. "group vibration pattern" was built-in to the S5. now in the S6, all we can do is assign a ringtone. lightflow is a battery hog. edit: lightflow also has issues with the s6 because of 'nonstandard' led settings Samsung put in place...

    Voice dialing from Bluetooth

I have absolutely zero trouble with Google Now's voice recognition finding my contacts to call, email, or text them.

    Voice dialing from Bluetooth

well.. follow up answer. I got most of this from other posts, but some of these steps are backtracking on my previous post. also, there's a giant "but" at the end of this one, just like the last one...

    Voice dialing from Bluetooth

so I found an imperfect, tedious, temporary workaround for this, but of course it breaks when the phone reboots. 1. go into settings, apps, turn off google search. 2. with the phone unlocked, press your Bluetooth device button. you should get prompted to choose what to do, probably s voice or...

    Voice dialing from Bluetooth

+1. my car has Bluetooth, and I can open a connection to the phone's voice commands by clicking a button on the steering wheel and saying "Bluetooth....voice." similar to your clicking the button on your headset. on my galaxy S3, this would open S Voice and let me talk to it. always. whether...

stock 4.3 email client "from" display name

I hope i'm missing something. I set up an exchange activesync account on my gs3 4.3. let's say my name is "R.U. Kidding" and my email address is "whatgeniussetthisup@domain.com". when I send an email from the stock email client on my phone, it shows up on the recipient's side as from...

    dialer/contacts quirks

couple of things i don't care for on the s3 (tmobile). 1. when i'm in the phone dialer, and i start spelling someone's name "J O H ..." it brings up all my contacts with "john" in their names... it only brings up *mobile* numbers (unless a contact doesn't have a mobile number). so if john crumb...

Turn off sounds for ESPN Scorecenter alerts???

scorecenter doesn't allow you to customize the notifications. it doesn't even have a "notifications" preferences item. it just has "alerts"(completely separate from Preferences) where you pick which teams you want to be alerted on. all alerts are the same. it's all or nothing. apparently i must...
