Permission to operate... must perform the certain steps to grant SD card access rights.

Had to dig up this thread again because it was relevant to me and I hope to bring some closure to the topics in this thread that haven't been resolved: 1. Many third-party file manager apps can't directly write to the phone's SD card. Only Samsung's built-in File Manager is guaranteed to do...

Features in S10 phone but not in S4 tablet

I got both S10 and S4 recently, and both have Android 10 and One UI 2.1. Yet on the S4 there is no option to put the brightness slider near the top, nor can it select multiple wallpapers for the lock screen. S10 has both features (pictured below). What exactly is preventing S4 from having...

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

Some of the latest LG models don't have LED, just like the latest Samsung phones. The industry is simply abandoning it. You have to buy an older model to have LED, but you get fewer security updates out of it (or none, if the phone is no longer supported). And I've read that LG's security...

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

The 3-minute minimum internal is just not short enough. I really need to be notified "persistently," as in every second. Even the 2-second default in LED Me Know wasn't good enough for me. I had to change it to 1 sec.

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

As I already mentioned, audio notifications only occur for a few seconds, which I could easily miss if I'm not near the phone. I need *persistent* notifications such as the LED in my old S7.

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

I got LED Me Know to be somewhat working for me. There is a well-hidden clock style that doesn't show notification icons or content. So using that and LED Me Know gives me exactly what I want: only a blinking LED when a notification comes. But one caveat is that it doesn't work with WeChat...

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

An small LED light is as unintrusive as it gets. You don't want intrusiveness, but you don't want to be in the dark either.

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

If there is a way to have the audio chimes and/or vibrations recur at a specified time interval, that would be a nice workaround. But this would most likely still wake me up at night.

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

B.Diddy mustang7757 There is no way to adjust brightness for those features (nor for the area of the screen flashes). Either one would wake me up at night, not to mention waste battery. These just aren't common sense designs, and neither works as well as an LED.

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

Those apps require "always on display," and when the screen is on, I see notifications already. Also, the notifications sometimes show content, which compromises some privacy if my screen is always on and everybody around sees it when I'm not near the phone. I really need the old way: phone...

With no LED, any way to have persistent notifications?

My S7 Edge had an LED that blinked persistently, so that I could see the notification at all times. With newer phones like my S10 that has no LED, is there a way to get that feature back? An audio chime or vibration only comes on for a few seconds and I could easily miss it, especially if I'm...

Clock app that announces time with voice?

Is there an app that tells you time with a voice telling you the time so you don't have to pick up the device, turn on the screen and check the clock? That would be useful if you don't have your device near you, and you need to check the time often. E.g. a voice that would say, "ten thirty...

Slow Wi-Fi Network File Transfer Speed in Nougat

When I use ES File Explorer I get what I think is my normal speed for 802.11b/g 2.4GHz: 1 megabyte/second transfer speed. And I use "LAN" instead of FTP in ES. Hence, it seems my slowness (366 and 117KB/s) was due to the Android file transfer app I used before.

Slow Wi-Fi Network File Transfer Speed in Nougat

I just tried ES File Explorer and suddenly I could download and upload at 1 megabyte/second with 802.11b/g 2.4GHz. So I guess the slowness is due to the Android file transfer app. It is my turn to ask you why you get only 400 kilobytes/sec.

Slow Wi-Fi Network File Transfer Speed in Nougat

What is your speed when you transfer from smartphone to PC? I get great (as expected) speed for both wired and wireless Internet connection. The only slowness is for downloading (not upload) with wireless LAN connection. I tried it at my home network and office network and got the same results.
