I use Nine for sending photos for this reason. It's actually a better app functionally but it's folder handling is a little clumsy and it's search function doesn't work well which is why I stopped using it as my main app.

I have the same problem. I should also say that I come to this forum from time to time and all I ever see is questions or problems posted but rarely any definitive answers. Does anyone else find this forum less than helpful?

Checking what it's linked to is the answer. In my case, it was whatsapp. Once that link was removed, the number was removed from the contact. The question is, why am I forced to search for the solution online?
