A common concern has been scratches to the aluminum, especially in the graphite color. Would you like to take one for the team, and beat the hell out of the back of your 6p with your keys, and let us know how it goes? :-)

I can't believe people care about boxes. I would much rather my phone arrive in a padded envelope and have the expense of designing and producing the box go into the design and expense of producing the phone instead.

I doubt that. Even if the 16GB model doesn't sell well, they like having a lower number to advertise. "Starting at $499" sounds better than 549. It's tried and true advertising.

Is it possible the guy doesn't know what anodized aluminum feels like? It's a somewhat duller feeling surface than bare aluminum, and he might be confusing it for plastic.
