The camera won't work on 14.1 because it's based on android 7.0 and no custom roms can get the camera to work. I've just started using 13 nightly and I'm really impressed overall......the camera doesn't focus properly for some reason and there's no video option.I could maybe try another camera...

Have you got the Facebook app installed ? If so try force stopping it for a few days and compare battery life then.Facebook is a notorious battery killer

I've seen it when I've uninstalled an app that uses widgets and the widget has been running. Remove the widget from your home screen and re-install fixes it

The Nvidia K1 looks to be the best bang for your buck now,£150. Without a lollipop update you're going to find app issues in the months ahead I would have thought.I had that on my Moto phone which only got as far as 4.4 Kitkat

That 40% suggestion is stupid. I think 10-20% is a good time to recharge personally although I have let mine go down even lower. Some 'experts' do say letting the battery discharge completely shortens it's life

Did you let it discharge to nearly 0% ? I've heard this particular tablet charges best when it's stil got a fair bit of life in it. Also if a devices battery goes down to zero it can take a long time plugged in before it shows it charging.24 hours in some cases !
