I believe you had the Moto g7 Power before which has that feature. The LG G7 uses an always on display technology instead you can enable is settings.

The adhesive they use at the factory provides the water resistance. Using tape wouldnt provide that same seal.

Only way to fix it is to do a screen replacement. Pretty sure you will lose any IP cert by doing it as well, especially if you do it yourself.

Could be a 2nd clock app as well. LG has their own, then transferring your data might have installed a different app.

I haven't had any compaints, but probably would bought a V40 if it didn't cost twice as much. Now that I have the G7 I really like the smaller form factor

Like others have said, it is fine. You will not see performance like the Z Play or Maxx/Turbo. It's just fine.

Yeah, I don't imagine a 9.0 update that soon. I am very pleased with how my phone performs right now and hope the update doesn't tank it.

I haven't tried Nova with the G7, but the pixel launcher plays nicely.

oddly I just bought another one. Whenever I use a different phone I really miss it. Speakers and software are the best.
