    Android Central Photo Contest: Concrete

This is a concrete wall atop a levee in Chesterfield, Missouri. For a good length of it, they invited artists to paint colorful scenes reflecting the region here near St. Louis. Though not the official name, I call it the Graffiti Wall. I've captured a number of these "panels" using my Samsung...

[Closed] Win a Nexus 6P from Android Central!

Because my Note 3 is longing for an upgrade, but Samsung's latest offerings of expensive phones while removing multiple features I made use of (IR, batt, sd) has me dis-interested in their lineup. While I realize the 6p doesn't have those either... I'd happier use a Nexus which never had those...

    Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: So there is 0 people here waiting to see what the iPhone 6S Plus will be like before buying Note Yeah the calibrate trick works for magnetic compass, but does nothing for GPS... In fact if you open an app like GPS status that shows signal strength for each satellite while its having the...

    Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: So there is 0 people here waiting to see what the iPhone 6S Plus will be like before buying Note That's good news if Samsung has done something to fix GPS issues. I've only had the S3 and Note3 myself, but it was definitely wonky on both. I use my GPS quite often... Navigation any time...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

I got into the note line on the 3... I always wanted the pen. What finally got me to do it is that with the 3... they added the ability for the pen to work on the haptic buttons.... seems like a small touch... but for pen users, that was a significant improvement I thought.

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

Re: The first note I won't buy? I'm one who typically re-purposes older devices if I can. Until recently I was still using my Motorola Droid X in a dock in the kitchen using it as a wifi home phone (using Google Voice and another app.) Regularly took it on vacation as well, using it to...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

Re: The first note I won't buy? No, still not interested. The USB-OTG solution is what I thought Samsung should have done internally if the normal SD support really wasn't there as they claimed due to the file system. (Not needing storage for apps - just data/files/media. The extra battery...

Re: Are you gonna buy the Galaxy Note 5? nevermind - Edit: quoted below... only deleted because I'm tired of the useless debate. But good comment below on what I said, thanks.

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

First it was my Galaxy S3 on Verizon - apparently carrier restrictions got in the way as they were blocking it in favor of their own competing system - which took a long time to come about and only supported a couple card companies that I didn't use. Switched to T-Mobile when I got the Note3...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

It's not always about the battery going "bad" its the case of diminished performance. Its like the old adage about how to boil a frog... turn up the heat slowly and he doesn't notice. Same for battery... degradation happens slowly and you get the feeling that your device is getting old...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

Re: The first note I won't buy? That's pretty impressive. Some people get lucky, I guess. Though it may be the difference of holding a charge "fine" and a holding a charge/lasting like new. It happens so gradual that sometimes you don't even notice. Most rechargable batteries exhibit the...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

I don't use micro-usb charger to my phone most of the time because I have the freedom not to. It's not that I NEED to swap out, its that I want to. The versatility of the the removable battery is what made it great. How was it inconvenient for people to have removable batteries for the past 4...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

At least once a day swap on my battery (since I'm not plugging it into the usb charger.) My second battery is usually down to about 40% by the time I go to sleep... so I may even swap it again just for peace of mind that my alarm will go off in the morning. Did that last night and charge was...

The first note I won't buy? (all discussion about lack of microSD and removable battery must go here)

Re: The first note I won't buy? Since it IS important to me... until that day comes there still are other choices out there, and I'll do the voting with my wallet. I can see how the 5 might be attractive to those who don't have the same wants or desires I do in a phone. And I appreciate your...
