I will say that the screen is much more vibrant on the S3, and it probably takes more to power the display, but I still find that the brightness doesn't go high enough. I took it outside on max brightness and although not impossible to see, it was very difficult to view what was happening...

I have the auto-brightness turned off as well as all the power saving features. It is just very apparent that the screen is lacking a decent amount of back lighting when compared side-by-side with my Droid X. The best I can hope for is that I have a faulty screen I suppose, but I do not believe...

I am honestly shocked at how little maximum brightness actually lights up the screen. WHen comparing the S3 side-by-side with the Droid x using Gmail (white background), the Droid X's screen is SIGNIFICANTLY more bright and white. The S3 looks very dull and gray. I am very dissappointed thus far...
