I dont know that for sure yet. 'coz the ring pattern i have just started observing right now. But this MX 170 doesnt work which has 2 rings & that samsung earphones which has 3 rings works perfectly fine.

The Sennheiser headphone has an "L Shaped jack" & a small Shroud. and Other headphone which have worked have strait jack & shroud like this. One more question : Does the rings on the jack matter ? 'coz this samsung one has 3 rings whereas sennheiser mx 170 has 2 rings :

No im not using anything. If something is wrong with the headPhone jack, then all the headphones shoudnt work. Few Headphones are working perfectly. Some of them are not working
